3. Mathewson, F.A.L.: The abnormal electrocardiogram without other manifestations of heart disease. Man Med Review 40 (2); 131-133, February 1960. This paper was a description of a review of certain electrocardiographic abnormalities and their significance in ten years of follow-up. The absence of clinical disease, many of these changes are apparently benign, and can be associated with good health over this period of time. The same findings in the presence of heart disease may have a significant effect on prognosis.
